We sure have done our share of traveling. So far, since May, we've been to Las Vegas, Cedar City, UT, Wash. DC, NYC, and N. Idaho. It is good to be home, even though we've had lots of fun, especially spending time with friends and family.
On our way to N. Idaho we stopped in Idaho Falls and saw this flag procession. According to a woman in the gas station we were stopped at this is a parade of 2000 flags, supposedly the largest of its type in the US. They were taking these flags to a park to display for the 4th. It took several minutes for everyone to pass. There were people from small children to senior citizens carrying flags. It was a beautiful sight and this photo just doesn't do it justice.
On the 4th we went to the parade. Don't these girls look excited?
This picture shows the Perfectionots. This is a group of locals of all ages that play in a marching band. This was started many years ago when the local high school band decided not to march in the parade. If you look closely, near the center, the girl in the pink dress is my niece who plays the flute. As you can see most of the band members dress up and my niece is no exception. She is dressed as a doll, how cute!
Some of the kids played a mean game of badminton, while some of the older kids played a game of croquet.
This is my Dad, in the center, my brother in law on the left and nephew on the right.
This is my brother, sister in law and their granddaughter, Dakota.
We had loads of fun and can't wait to see everyone again in December!
