I'm a loser

Or at least I want to be. I lost 10 lbs about 5 months ago when I was going to Weight Watchers. After that I quit going and have pretty much been a lazy, junk food eater. Fortunately I only gained back 2 of those lbs. But now I want to lose them and a few more. So I need your help. My first goal is to lose 5 lbs. I figure if I set small, attainable goals then I might not get so discouraged. I am also setting a goal of exercising at least 5 times a week. I have been a big slacker the past week due to the rain. But that's really no excuse because I have some great exercise DVD's my friend Kelly gave me and I have two I bought myself. So I plan to run on Mon, Wed, Fri and Sat. and do some weight training with my DVD's on Tues and Thurs. If it rains I'll just do a cardio DVD rather than sit around and getting fat!

Rather than admit how much I weigh I'll just call it 5 lbs. and my goal will be to get to zero lbs. I am going to weigh myself every Tuesday and Saturday to keep me on track. I'll just list it at the bottom of my blog. Wish me luck. If you have any favorite recipes (low-fat and/or high fiber) please feel free to share. Tomorrow I am going to make up a huge batch of Taco Soup, which I love, and freeze it in single serving portions. It is delicious and only 3 WW points per serving. My only real fear right now is going to a birthday party on Saturday. The friends hosting it are well known for their great food spread. I'll have to really take it easy on Friday and all day Saturday, because I know I'll want to enjoy some of their great cooking. To be fair, they always have healthy choices available, I'm just not always that self-controlled!

I went running to day, perfect weather! And I am going to do some yard work, so that's my exercise for today! I also have a book report and a service hours placement paper to write. I am volunteering at the Family Support Center on Mon, Wed and Friday, working in the Casualty section. My duties will be to contact widows and widowers of active duty and retired members to ensure they are getting all of their benefits. This should be a rewarding job and will fulfill my requirement for 20 service hours for my Social Work class.

Okay, enough procrastinating. I am going to get started on my homework. Enjoy your Saturday!

Taco Soup? Mmmm, that sounds good...can I have the recipe? I know you can lose the weight you want, I just know you can. I have been a bit of a slacker myself lately, which makes me terrified to step back on the scale, but I know I need to for my health. I just keep thinking about what I have accomplished so far, which proves I can do this. I know I can, I know I can, I know I can! Good Luck Mary!
