A Day of Rest

Yesterday was a very busy day. I picked Chelsea up at the airport at 5:30. Then we headed of to the REAL SL vs. REAL Madrid game. The traffic was horrible since the game was a sell out. I was sure we'd have to park about 10 miles away and then walk back to the stadium. I got to the VA Med. Center where they were charging people to park in their far off parking lots. I approached the guard, flashed my VA medical card and asked if disabled Vets could park in the actuall visitors parking lot which was empty. He did let me park there and I didn't get charged! So we were only a few blocks from the stadium!

The game was great and even though RSL didn't win, they played well against one of the best teams in the world. They announced that it finally looks like there will be a stadium in Sandy with RSL agreeing to stay in Utah for at least 30 years. Looks like we'll have plenty of time to watch soccer games.

We left the game about 5 minutes early and we really beat the traffic. I was relieved about that because we had to get to Uintah. I agreed to watch my friend Tammy's boys while she took her husband for a wild and crazy night with her husband to celebrate their 18th anniversary. Tammy is heading off to war in about 2 weeks so she really deserved this time with her hubby.

We went to church, as usual, this morning. We went to the late service which isn't the norm for us and we got to see some people we don't normally see when we attend the early service. We did get to see our friend Norma McMahon, who seems so well considering she has terminal cancer and is under hospice care. She always reminds me that life is short and live it while you can.

After church we came home and rested. Both Chelsea and I were exhausted. I tried to nap but for some reason couldn't sleep. Chelsea did take a nap while I went out to run some errands. She is now making Swaps for her Girl Scout Camporee this weekend and after I am done typing I am going to pour myself a glass of wine and relax. Later!
